Flight training

Learning to fly is not out of reach

A private pilot licence is a common dream. The first step is a half-hour discovery flight — and those thirty minutes count toward the hours the course requires.

Step one — the discovery flight

We begin with a briefing on the controls and the aircraft systems, then talk through the flight itself. In the air you do the flying, supervised by the instructor. After landing we debrief the exercises and you get professional feedback.

Half an hour in the air; about ninety minutes on the ground in total. If you decide to continue to the private pilot course, that half hour counts toward the hours needed to complete it.

Course requirements

  • Aged 17 or over
  • No criminal record
  • Medical fitness — a medical examination
  • Passing the six Civil Aviation Authority theory exams
